5. Purpose
   The present protective clothes for fire fighting have been evaluated mainly from the viewpoint of their protective performance. However, according to the questionnaire investigation about protective clothes for firefighting, firefighters hope more comfortable and functional protective clothes than the present clothes. In addition, the comfort and functionality of protective clothes for fire fighting have been discussed at the recent international conference.
   Therefore, we are planning to invite domestic and foreign experts and researchers about firefighter's protective clothes to our symposium. At the symposium, we think to discuss about the situation of standards, the requirement, the study and the development of each country concerned with firefighter's protective clothes.
   The purpose of this symposium is to contribute to the improvement of safety and performance of firefighter's protective clothes and the smooth international circulation.
