Purpose Technology and standards for fire suppression systems have been developed based on the knowledge of fire suppression. These technology and standards have also reflected regional circumstances and historical background. Under recent globalization, however, companies have launched into different areas and come to do large-scale economic activities. This movement promotes unification of the standards for the purpose of offering fire protection equipment without restriction by regional characteristics and historical background.
The Second NRIFD Symposium - Science, Technology and Standards for Fire Suppression Systems - aimed at the promotion of fire suppression science and technology, and the internationalization of standards for fire suppression systems through providing interfaces between science and standards.
The Symposium featured a panel discussion and lectures by 27 speakers invited from 12 countries (Australia, Canada, China, Finland, Israel, Japan, Korea, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, UK and USA), and 252 participants took part in some lively discussions.
The Host Committee expresses its sincerest gratitude to all the symposium lecturers, paper authors, panelists, advisors, questionnaire respondents, and participants, for their interest and eagerness.
